With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Johnell Bridgeman on May 25, 2026, at the age of 38.
Born and raised in Benton Harbor, Michigan, on December 15, 1987 to Johnell was the beloved son of Nina Bridgeman and the late John Bridgeman Jr. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing football and was known for his determination, resilience, and deep love for his family. As an adult, he moved with his family to Dallas, Texas, before eventually returning to the hometown he always held close to his heart.
Those who knew Johnell will remember his warm smile, generous heart, and welcoming spirit. Kind, sincere, and always ready to lend a helping hand, he touched the lives of many as a loving son, devoted brother, caring uncle, cherished nephew, loyal friend, and dedicated father. His laughter, compassion, and gentle presence brought comfort and joy to those around him and created memories that will be treasured for years to come.
Johnell’s greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was being a father. His children were the center of his world, bringing him endless happiness, purpose, and pride. He is lovingly remembered by his sons, Johnell Bridgeman, and his twin sons, Rhaeim and Jaheim Bridgeman.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Johnell Bridgeman Jr.; his father, John Bridgeman Jr.; his siblings, Ashley Bridgeman and Eddie Bridgeman; his grandparents, John Henry, Darlene Sesson, and Nina Johnson; as well as several cherished extended family members and loved ones.
Johnell leaves behind his devoted mother, Nina Bridgeman; his siblings, Demetrius Bridgeman, Lateasha Bridgeman, Theresa Bridgeman, Miracle Bridgeman, Porsha Bridgeman, John Bridgeman, and Alice Smith; along with many beloved nieces and nephews, including Darren Warren Jr., Egypt Williams, Jordan Hall, Zayden Bridgeman, Abigail Bridgeman, Nazar Lloyd, Nira Lloyd, and Kari McClinton. He is also lovingly remembered by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.
While his absence is deeply felt, the love he shared and the bonds he nurtured remain a lasting gift to all who knew him. His legacy of strength, devotion, and unconditional love will continue to shine through the family and friends who carry his memory forward.
