Joe Lee Ross was born to the late Mary & Eugene Ross on March 24, 1950, in Macon GA. Joe Lee Ross was an employee for the City of Benton Harbor Public works for 28 years.
Joe Lee Ross is one of the five founders of the Midnight Riders Motorcycle Club, Michigan Jurisdiction which was founded in 1975 and ordained as a Michigan Chapter in 1976. This is when the club name "Root Hog " was born. Root loved taking motorcycle rides with the midnight riders, getting on the grill at the cookout with family & friends. He loved listening to his down home blues and playing his guitar.
Joe Lee Ross moved to Michigan in the late 60’s where he met the late Beverly (Brimite) Ross who he was with for many years, and they were later united in holy matrimony November 29,1993. During their union there were two children born Nikki Ann Brimite and Joe (Angie) Brimite both of Benton Harbor, MI., Calvin (Edna Mae) Brimite, Mary Clayton, Shemeka (Timothy) Williams, Tameka Ross of Benton Harbor, MI. William (Army Kay) Brimite of Blytheville, AR,. Vanessa Simmons of Las Vegas, NV., Roschell Brimite of Jacksonville, NC., and Joyce Allen of Sacramento, CA.
Joe Lee Ross leaves to cherish one brother, Charlie Ross of Benton Harbor, MI, and four sisters, Rosemary Anderson, Cheryl Sisson, Carolyn Ross, and Jennifer Tharpe all of Benton Harbor, MI. One Aunt Mattie "Doll" (Alexander) Newton. One Uncle James (Katherine) Ross; a special friend Ms. Darlene Jones and 50 grandchildren, and 51 great grandchildren.
Joe Lee Ross was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Ross; his mother Mary Ross and his father Eugene Ross; two brothers John Ross and WIllie Ross; Aunts Katie "Lil Ma"
Bostick-Gooley; Rosebud"Teenie" Shinhulster and two canine Miller and Bud.
Joe Lee Ross blessed everyone he knew with Joy and Laughter. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, and will be truly missed.
