JoAnn (JoJo) was born to T.J. and Susie Isom on January 8, 1946, in Pulaski, Illinois. The family later moved to Benton Harbor, MI.
JoAnn attended Benton Harbor High School, Benton Harbor, Michigan. On December 21, 1963, she married Miles Stansberry, Jr. and this union created five beautiful children.
At a young age, JoAnn was baptized in the name of Jesus under the leadership of W.H. Hunter at Bethlehem Temple Church, Benton Harbor, MI. She was filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost. Over the years, JoJo served in various auxiliary capacities in her service to the Lord. She later became a member of Word Up Ministries Apostolic Church under the leadership of Bishop OC Isom, Jr until she was stricken with illness.
JoJo enjoyed serving the Lord, cooking, cleaning, bowling, and tending to her children and grandchildren. JoAnn worked at Memorial (Lakeland) Hospital as a Dietician for approximately 25 years.
JoAnn will forever live in the hearts and memories of her four children: Debra (Charles Outlaw), Solita (Melvin Pullen), Tonya Robinson (special friend, Charles Taylor), and Myles Stansberry, III (Iradale); her siblings, Cleofus Isom, Lili Taylor, Angelie Jackson, and Rose Michele Jackson; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and special friend, Alice Wolford.
JoAnn Willie, 75, passed on May 18, 2021 at home surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her daughter Betty Stansberry; her parents T.J. and Susie Isom; her sisters Gertha Lee Mitchell, Suzanne Isom, and MaryAnn Jones; her brothers Wesley Truss, T.J. Isom, Jr, and James Isom, Sr; her grandson Troyshika K. Stansberry; and her great-grandchildren Shantelle Osby and Grady Manns, Jr.
