Jerry Washington Jr.

Jerry P. Washington Jr, 71, of Benton Harbor, Michigan went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 19, 2022.

Jerry P. Washington Jr was born on January 14, 1951, to Jerry P. Washington Sr and Alberta Thomas Washington in South Bend, Indiana. Jerry attended Washington High School and later moved to Benton Harbor, Michigan to explore new opportunities. He later met Ora Thomas in 1973, whom he married in 1981. 

Jerry worked at Auto Specialist until its closing, and he retired from Eau Claire Packing. Jerry didn’t like to just sit around, so in his spare time, he worked for Grover Cleaning Services until his passing. 

Jerry was very well known for his smooth walk, love for Cadillacs, and fishing. He really loved his wife and kids, enjoyed the company of his family and friends; and would give anyone the shirt off his back. 

Jerry P. Washington Jr leaves to cherish his wife Ora Washington; 6 children: Alberta (Shavion) Washington and Daphne Pierce, all of Benton Harbor, MI, Tihate (James) Pryor of Orlando, FL, LaMont Thomas of Kalamazoo, MI, Jermaine (Lynnette) Thomas and Jerry P. Washington III, also of Benton Harbor, MI; 5 sisters: Geraldine Penn, Rose Washington, Ella Washington, all of Benton Harbor, MI, Annette Washington of South Bend, IN, and Mary Ruth (Mike) Zuiderveen of Grand Rapids, MI; 2 brothers: Robert Washington and Halum Thomas Washington, both of South Bend, IN; 2 step-sisters: Dorothy (George) Moon and Viola Garrett, both of Benton Harbor, MI; a step-brother, Harold Taylor of Cedar Rapids, IA; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. 

Jerry P Washington Jr is preceded in death by his mother Alberta Washington, father Jerry P. Washington Sr., brothers Gus Coleman, William Coleman, Jerry Lee Washington, Vincent Henderson, James Dolby, and stepsisters Shirley Davis, Gracie Cloyd, and Marvenious Garrett.
