Jerry Lee Washington

Jerry Lee Washington, 59 of Benton Harbor, MI passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2020.

On February 5, 1961, Jerry was born in Benton Harbor MI to Jerry P. Washington and Tommie Mae Coleman. He attended Benton Harbor Area Schools.

Jerry was joined in marriage to Debra Charlette William on October 15, 1988. To this union was born two (2) children, Ellaisha Maedayah and Jonathan Darrell Lee.  
He worked at various Funeral Homes in the area for many years. He worked with his Cousin Finch at Finch Funeral Home, Starks, and Robbin Brothers Funeral Home.  Jerry loved working at the funeral homes. For the past 20 years, he has worked at Rubens Store. He loved to cook and enjoyed being with his family and friends.

Jerry was very well known around town. He loved to cook and spend time with his family and friends. Jerry also loved people and tried to do good all his life.  He also was known as a hero for saving someone’s life in the midst of a robbery.

Jerry Washington leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Deborah Charlotte Washington of Benton Harbor MI,  His Son,  Jonathan Washington of  Detroit MI, Daughter, Elliasha (John) Lull of Fort Worth, TX  Military Base; Step-daughters, Latielya Williams and Debra Davis of  Benton, MI;  Ten (10) Grandchildren:  Alekk Manyuan and Josiah Manyuan , Alexandria, Jerry, Evelyn, Samantha, Izzy, Modessti, Javontae and Angelica;  Four (4) Brothers, Jerry  (Era) P. Washington Jr., and J. C. Coleman of Benton Harbor MI;  Robert and Halen Thomas Coleman of South Bend, IN; Five (5) Sisters, Geraldine (Amous) Penn, Mary (Mike) Zuiderveen and Lanette Washington of South Bend IN,  Ella Mae and Rose Washington of Benton Harbor, MI and a host of relatives and friends.

Jerry was proceeded in death by his parents, Jerry P. Washington and Tommie Mae Coleman, and a Brother Gus Coleman.
