Jeffery L Sterling

Jeffery Lynn Sterling, 63, passed away on August 1 2020, at Lakeland Hospital.  Before his passing he was surrounded by his son Jeffery Lynn Sterling Jr., daughter Sherry Marie Sterling and others family members.

Jeffery was born on June 6, 1957 In Benton Harbor MI at Mercy Hospital.  He Graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1975.  He served honorably in the United States Navy.

Jeffery worked for the city of Benton Harbor and Hoffman Die Cast.  He loved working on his cars and helping others with theirs. 

Jeffery loved playing and watching basketball.  He was known around BH as “The Pearl” because of his great ball handling.  He loved watching football and would often spend his watching with family and friends.  He loved his grandkids and would often share photos of them with family members saying “I loved those lil babies”.  But most of all he loved to dance!  He was known for his bopping (stepping).  Jeff was always the life of any party, all eyes were on him, as he would amaze most with his moves on the dance floor.  His favorite color was red, and he made red look good!!

Jeffery is survived by his two children, Jeffery Lynn Sterling Jr, Sherry Marie Sterling and six grand kids. Brothers  Barrett Sterling, Don Sterling, Jeremiah Sterling of Benton Harbor, Kelvin (Rita) Sterling, of Columbus OH, Duane (Antoinette) Sterling, Fayetteville GA, Mark (Patricia) Sterling, Colorado Springs, CO.  Sisters Helen (Albert) Adams of Benton Harbor and Sheletha (Jose) Maldonado of Fayetteville, GA. Special friend Antoinette Williams of Benton Harbor.

Jeffery was preceded in death by his parents L.C. and Sheletha Sterling. Brothers Larry (hammerhead) Sterling and Eric (spoon) Sterling.  Sisters Veronica Sterling and Renell Kyle.
