Jasmine Terrell Obituary

Jazzy always loved a good nap, and now she’s resting peacefully in the arms of the Lord- no alarms, no wake-up calls, just eternal peace.

Jasmine Tierré Terrell, affectionately known as Jazzy and KoKo, departed this life on February 27, 2025 at the age of 35. Jasmine was born December 27, 1989 to Leamon and Brenda Terrell.

Jasmine was a lifelong church member, being baptized and accepting Christ as her Lord and Savior at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, she also attended other churches in Benton Harbor where she was active in Sunday School and Bible Class.  She later became a member of Elevation Church. Jasmine loved the Lord and used every chance to witness and help people in need.  Jasmine graduated from Berrien Springs High School in 2008, later achieving her Associates from Lake Michigan College and Bachelors from Western Michigan University.

She had a sharp financial mind, daily budgeting so meticulously that a small forest may have been sacrificed in the process. She loved her planned getaways or spontaneous adventures with her sister, Shayla. A world traveler visiting Zanzibar, Dubai, Maldives, Dominican Republic, Thailand, Canada, Qatar. Though many in the family could tell you she couldn’t hold a note, she loved to sing and listen to music. You always knew what kind of mood she was in by the song she was listening too and the volume.

Jasmine loved watching television, especially Criminal Minds and Law & Order: SVU though, more often, it was those shows watching her as she drifted off into another well-earned nap. She loved taking her daughters to the movies, sometimes sneaking off to go by herself. She loved playing brain games, improving her memory and cognitive skills.

Her journey was not without hardship. Diagnosed with Lupus, she faced health battles that would have broken many, yet she refused to be defined by them. She endured the unimaginable loss of a child, a lengthy hospital stay that required her to relearn how to walk, talk, and use her limbs. Jasmine’s story was not one of suffering, it was one of triumph. She met each challenge with courage, refusing to let struggle dim her spirit.

She had a heart that overflowed with love, especially for babies, always celebrating new life with joy and excitement. But above all, her greatest pride and deepest love belonged to her daughters, Khloé and Zoé, who were the center of her universe. She poured every ounce of love, wisdom, and strength into them, ensuring that the world she dreamed for them would have no limits.

Though she has taken her final rest, Jasmine leaves behind a legacy of perseverance, love, and an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her. While we grieve her absence, we celebrate the incredible woman she was: warrior, a mother, a sister, and a friend.

Jasmine leaves behind to cherish her memory: Her beloved daughters, Khloé Terrell and Zoé Terrell. Her parents Leamon and Brenda Cummings Terrell.
