James Kenny Roman Sr. was born on May 19, 1964, in Moorhead, Mississippi, to the union of Cecil and Mary Lee Roman. He was the ninth child of ten.
Kenny grew up in Chicago, Illinois, and later relocated to Benton Harbor, Michigan in 1969, where he attended Benton Harbor Area School.
Kenny worked numerous jobs in the area. He was full of life when it came to having fun with his family. He loved music, playing Domino’s, Poke-no, and going fishing. As we all knew him as “Snake”. His favorite phrase was “you know you my favorite”. Kenny was a loving brother, uncle, father, grandfather, and friend. ‘
Kenny transitioned to glory on May 19, 2022, on his 58th birthday, surrounded by family. He leaves to cherish his memories, the love of his life Tiffany Mitchell, 7 daughters: Novella, Kenisha (Nakija), Shaquala, Kieshia, Cyntisha (Jeff), Lakeytta, Latrice. 3 boys: James Jr, Devin, Montal, along with 3 stepchildren: Stephanie, Florencia, Daniel. Also 9 sisters: Tina (David), Carolyn, Virginia, Jeanette, Maxine, Barbara, Gloria (Mack), Linda, Gwendolyn; 6 brothers: Albert G (Teresa), Bruce, Tommy, Jessie, Neal, Terry, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Mary Lee Roman, 4 brothers: Alton, James, Robert, Albert H; 1 sister Eloise Allen; 1 grandson Chris and a special cousin Robert Roman.
