James Ralph Herrion passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026 in Galesburg, MI. He was born on March 21,1949 to James Anthony (Tony) and Vera Marie (PeeWee) Herrion in Benton Harbor, MI.
James attended Benton Harbor High School and graduated in 1967.He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at an early age. James met the love of his life Elaine (Rucker) Herrion in 1973. They married in 1976 and were blessed with 2 adorable children, Kenyatta and NeQuan Herrion. Even though the marriage ended they remained friends.
James worked at Modar Inc. in Benton Harbor. He later attended Michigan Career & Technical Institute in Plainwell, MI and became a certified cabinet maker.
James enjoyed spending time listening to music, watching sports and old western movies, but mostly spending time with his only grandson Jalen. He will be truly missed.
James leaves to cherish his memories a daughter Kenyatta; a son NeQuan; grandson Jalen Herrion; 2 great granddaughters Nova and Belle Herrion; sister Lynn Herrion; nephews Marquise Myles & Kenyard Houston; special friend Albert Burton and a host of family & friends.
James was preceded in death by his grandparents John and Nora Hudson, parents James and Vera Herrion, sister Elna Lucille Houston, and nephew Torrance Sean Houston.
