James Willie Clift Caldwell “Bae-Bae” departed this life on November 18, 2020, at home surrounded by his family.

James Willie Clift Caldwell aka “Bae-Bae” was born to the union of Minnie Lee and Albert Caldwell Sr. in Batesville MS. James relocated to Benton Harbor, MI in the early ’60s.
He later graduated from Benton Harbor High School. He was the sixth child of 12 children. James Confessed his hope in Christ and was baptized at an early age. James was a member of the Israelite Baptist Church in Benton Harbor, MI under the leadership of Pastor Joe Bruins, where he served on the usher board, the male and mass choir. He also did janitorial work at Israelite Baptist Church for many years.

He was a very hard worker and work for many people cutting grass or whatever needed to be done. He was a loving son and brother he had a heart of gold for his nieces and nephews. He will be welled missed by those who knew him. He would be welled missed by his family for lifting our spirits when he sings his favorite sone “God Has Smiled on me”

James leaves to cherish his memories in the hearts of two sisters Josephine Caldwell (Lorenzo Robinson Jr.) of Benton Harbor, Janie (Kenneth) Chapman of Batesville MS.  Four Brothers Robert (Sonya) Caldwell, Willie (Wanda) Caldwell, Jimmie (Mary) Caldwell, Albert Caldwell Jr. all of Benton Harbor, MI. Sister-in-law Vertilla Caldwell of Benton Harbor, MI, a longtime friend Debra Cohn and the Upshaw family. 

A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
