Jalita Joseph Obituary

A TIME TO BE BORN:

Jalita Ann Joseph, 55, was born March 5, 1965 to the late Doris (Blanks) Joseph and Billy June Joseph. She crossed the finish line of this life and transitioned from earth on Friday, April 24, 2020 due to her battle with cancer.

A TIME TO SERVE:

Jalita was a 1983 graduate of Benton Harbor High School and won the title of Miss Entrepreneur (1983 Miss Benton Harbor Court). Jalita followed one of her passions and founded Lady J’s Transportation, which provided quality transportation services to many clients. She has received various awards and recognitions for her services in the community.

Jalita was most recently baptized in August 2005 at Word of Truth Deliverance Ministries under the leadership of Pastors James  & June Hightower, where she was a member. She later relocated and moved membership to Great Faith Ministries under the leadership of Pastors Wayne T & Beverly Jackson. Anyone who knew her knew she loved God, her family, and helping those in need. She was a very strong woman and proof that God is real.

A TIME TO WEEP:

She leaves to mourn her passing: parents, Billy (Donna) Joseph ,of MI; two daughters, Ja’Miaa Joseph & Ja’Leahha Joseph, both of MI; four sons, Ja’Quoi Griffin, of TX, Ja’Keeme Griffin, Henry Griffin, Jr., & Jar’Vell Griffin, of MI; two sisters, Anita Joseph & Sheree (Bredon) Joseph-Bos, both of MI; four brothers, Jamon Joseph, BJ (Ariesa) Joseph, & Antwan (Brooke) Joseph, of MI, & Julius (Kimberly) Hickmon, of CA; four grandchildren, Kyndall McCaster, Aiden Griffin, Keon Heard, & Shanice Griffin; three God children, Anthony Yates,  Jo’Waun Wilson, & Shaqoria Rivera; two close friends, Lucille Randolph & Mary Carr; spiritual parents, James (June) Hightower & Wayne T (Beverly) Jackson; and a host of relatives and friends.

Jalita was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Joseph.
