Harold Farmer Obituary

Harold Trevor Farmer was born on July 16, 1949, to the late Melvin and Selma Farmer in Benton Harbor, MI.  Although Harold’s transition was sudden and unexpected.  We take solace in knowing that he lived his life to the beat of Harold’s drum.  And because of that our lives will be forever touched by such a happy and joyful-spirited man.

To know Harold was to love Harold for who he was to each and every one of us.  That smile, that laugh it would fill the room.  Rather you were sad or happy if Harold was nearby it would soon turn to laughter.   Harold had a genuine love for his family.  And he showed it in whatever capacity he could on a daily basis.  He would always say hey how are you doing?  Followed by a good laugh or his next joke.

Harold graduated from Benton Harbor High School.  Harold would later join the United States Army where he fought in the Vietnam War.  That experience would forever impact the rest of his life and allowed for him to have stories that would never cease to amaze his family and friends.
After returning home Harold became the proud father of his two beautiful children Thu-hoy McCoy (Towa) and Hashim McCoy (Shimi) whom he loved and made sure he was always present in their lives. Harold enjoyed playing chess, nature, taking walks throughout the community.  And spending time with his family and friends.
Harold was a humble and mild-mannered soul.  Who never met a stranger that he couldn’t make laugh. Harold will live on in our lives and hearts.  And should we ever feel down just remember that laugh and smile.  As Harold wouldn’t want it any other way but his own. “TO LAUGH and ENJOY LIFE”

Harold made his earthly transition on October 10, 2021, a day we will never forget.

Harold leaves to mourn his presence children:  Thu-hoy McCoy (Towa) of Joliet, Ill., Hashim McCoy (Shimi) of Benton Harbor, MI.  Grandchildren Dominique Bradley, Angel McCoy, Carlito McCoy, Talea McCoy, Tino Henry, Selina McCoy.  Great Grandchildren Angelo & Demi McCoy.  Siblings:  Melvin (Chris) Farmer of Lansing, MI, Hester Fowler of Detroit, MI, and Sylvester Farmer of Benton Harbor, MI.  And his loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
