Gracie L. Holliday, 79, of Benton Harbor for 75 years recently moved to Oak Park, MI where she (answered a higher call) accepted the promotional call and peacefully went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, July 16, 2020, with her family.

Gracie was born on August 28, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Mosby and Letha Yarbrough. Gracie’s birth mother Laura Blue-Yarbrough died when Gracie was 11 years old.
Mrs. Holliday was a 1959 Benton Harbor High School graduate. She loved the Lord and enjoyed life. She was an active member of the Greater Community Christian Fellowship COGIC for 75 years and an active member of New St. Paul Tabernacle COGIC in Detroit, MI. The Lord was her Life!
Gracie worked at Modern Plastics and Auto Specialties for a number of years until they closed. Later she pursued a career in nursing and worked as a certified nursing assistant at the Lakeland Continued Care Center, St. Joseph, MI, where she retired in May 2014. She loved cooking, traveling, people, babies, dogs, and she adored and loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Gracie gave birth to three wonderful children, Maurice Bowman, Eric Bowman, and Tamara Bowman-Wooden, (Eric, Tamara, and their father Eddie Bowman proceeded her in death). Gracie later married Donald Holliday, Sr. a loving couple they were, he also proceeded her in death. Her sister Diane Rutter, brothers Arby Yarbrough, Reverend Robert Robinson, Harold Dockins all proceeded her in death.
Gracie leaves to cherish her memories, loving spirit, and to carry on her legacy, her loving sons Maurice (Diane) Bowman, Darrell (Evelyn) Holliday, Roderick (Lorna) Holliday, her son-in-love Ronald Wooden and her loving goddaughter Joy Marie Sorce; grandchildren Daneka (Ivan) Souberbielle, Keisha (Denell) Smith, Lasha Bowman, Demeka Ewing, Elan (Anthony) Bridges, Asia and Bryce Bowman, Ronald, Ja-mil, Carlos, Camilla, Maurice, Hiesha, Darrell, Tiffany, Julius, and Shekinah Holliday, Tyree Boyd, Nicholas Foster; great-grandchildren; Rayquan, Alina, Ivan Jr., Travon, Niesha, William, Isabel, Darryl, London, Brooklyn, Anthony Jr., Taybriel and Wade, and 11 great-great-grandchildren, brothers; Charles (Mamie) Yarbrough, Glenn, Robert Louis, Michael (Rebecca), Richard (Rosetta), David (Darlene), sisters; Betty (Glenn) Madison, Lyneva (Rudolph) Dalton, Sandra (Charles III) Wilson, sisters-in-love; Wilma Yarbrough and Udoxie Robinson; her cousin/sister Josephine Wooden and her friend/sister Annette Davidson, her Bowman and Holliday families, nieces, nephews, cousins, and the Greater Community Christian Fellowship Church Family, the New St. Paul Tabernacle Church Family, and friends.
