Gloria Jean Johnson (Weatherspoon) was born in Tallulah, Louisiana on June 14, 1951. She was a beautiful person, with an even more beautiful heart and God-fearing soul.
When Gloria was just a young girl, her family relocated to Benton Harbor, MI (1954) where she completed her formal education at Seely-McCord Elementary and
Benton Harbor High School, class of 1969. Gloria was later united in Matrimony to JW (Bill) Weatherspoon, where she gained and was loved by extended family forevermore. She was Den Mother to Cub Scouts of Michigan for her eldest Son and neighborhood children. Gloria worked for 33 years as a dedicated civil servant, taking pride in her work for the local Red Roof Inn.
She exhibited great strength and perseverance throughout her life, sometimes working 3 jobs to alleviate the need of any want for her children. She always strived to raise decent human beings.
Most close to her called her Mama, Nana, and TT because more than anything on this earth Gloria affectionately loved and cared for her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; They were all always known as her "babies".
Gloria enjoyed beautifying her garden, collecting new recipes, preparing food with love, and spending long hours conversing with her best friend and son, Dolan; she loved to travel and always spoke great things over all of her children and family.
Gloria leaves to mourn her daughters, LaToya Weatherspoon, and Karla Boyd (Benton Harbor, MI); Sons, Dolan Johnson (Puyallup, WA), Keith (Camille) Weatherspoon Sr., and Jermaine Weatherspoon Sr. (both of Holland, MI); Brother, Larry (Regina) Lucas (Fort Wayne, IN); Sister, Linda F. Clabin (Ohio); Brothers In-Law Ritchie (Tammy) Weatherspoon, Emmanuel Weatherspoon, and Sister-in-Law Sandra (James) Isom. She leaves behind a host of Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.
Gloria is preceded in death by her grandmother: Viola Paige-Young, Husband: JW (Bill) Weatherspoon, Aunt: Bertha Lee Tolson, Uncle: Arthur Lee Johnson, Granddaughter: Christal Rain Johnson, and Mother: Eleanor Lee Johnson
