We honor the life of Geneva Johnson Beck, who saw her last dawn on Oct 15, 2023, in Benton Harbor, MI. On Jan 18, 1926, in Osceola, AR, she was born to Maud and Archie Johnson.
On Dec 30, 1940, she married the love of her life, Jessie Beck. Their union brought four beloved children: Dorothy, Raymond, Charles, and Kenneth.
Geneva graduated from Benton Harbor High School. She furthered her education at Lake Michigan College. For almost fifty years until retirement, she managed the household of Elisha Gray, former Whirlpool president.
As a founding member of the Highland Avenue Seventh-Day Adventist Church, she served various roles, including Treasurer and Sabbath School Teacher. She later joined All Nations Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Most Sundays, Geneva and Jessie served meals at Benton Harbor Soup Kitchen. During the holidays, they offered their home to Andrew University international students.
She is left to cherish her memory: her daughter, Dorothy Thomas; son, Charles Beck; brothers: Harry Moore, Anthony, and Sylvester Johnson; and daughters-in-love, Cansada Beck, Ida, and Lorah; other family and friends.
Called to God's side, Geneva reunites with Jessie, her parents, sons: Raymond and Kenneth, sisters: Florence Jeanette Livingston and Maxine Brooks, Brother – Evol; son-in-law: Victor Thomas, and granddaughter: Dana Beck.
