Gary D. Dukes

Gary Douglas Dukes 68, of Benton Harbor transitioned from this life on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at home with his family.

Gary was born to the union of Billy and Willie Etta Dukes on June 3, 1956 in Benton Harbor Michigan.  He was the sixth born of eight children.

Gary attended Benton Harbor Area Schools where he graduated in 1977.  Gary volunteered at Community Catholic Church for many, many years. He was known for his ability to make others laugh with his “I mean, I mean” statements.

Gary leaves fond memories in the hearts of his son Gary (Sunshine) Jackson, his siblings Barbara Sayles of Portage, Michigan, Cleo Dukes, Pamela Dukes and Rodney Dukes, all of Benton Harbor, Michigan and his granddaughter, Jasmine Kiara Jackson of Hillsdale, Michigan. In addition, Gary leaves to mourn many nieces, nephews and cousins as well as good friend Lewis Hill III. 

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Billy Dukes, a sister Robbie Dukes and two brothers, Larry Joe and Augustus Dukes.
