Pastor Ezell Joseph Bailey
“A man known by God”
Ezell Joseph Bailey born the second of twins (Ozell James and Ezell Joseph) on December 25,1944 in Vancouver, Washington. They were the firstborn of six to Corbert Lee “Joe” and Amy Mary Granderson Bailey. He was baptized at the age of sixteen by the late Reverend W. B. Scott at the Hughes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Hughes, Arkansas.
Raised the son of a farmer, he learned many things about farming. He later worked as a barge crew member to help clean the Mississippi river until moving to Benton Harbor, Michigan where he became employed at Auto Specialist. After the company folded, he became a cross country semi- truck driver for C. R. England Trucking Company for over 20 years. He received numerous drivers awards and commendations.
After retiring from the trucking industry, for the next 3 years, he studied at the Moody Twin City Bible Institute. He studied Theology 402, Christology & Pneumatology 302 and Old Testament History #1 under Dean Anderson and Dean Harris. He also received numerous awards and certificates as an instructor.
He joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church in 1973 where he became an Usher and was later installed as Deacon. On October 10th, 2021, he was Ordained and later installed as the Pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
He believed his purpose as PASTOR was to help preserve the sanctuary for the people of God to worship and the pastor after him could give the increase.
Ezell Joseph Bailey was God’s Idea, he was made by God, for God’s purpose.
“For by him all things were created: things in heaven and things on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or power or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him for Him.”
