Eric Shonta Reynolds

Eric Reynolds 48 of Benton Harbor, departed this life on May 11, 2023, in Benton Harbor, MI.  

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. John 3:16

Eric Shonta Reynolds, affectionately called “E” or “John-Boy” by his family, was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. Eric was born October 8, 1974, in Benton Harbor Michigan to Donna R. Reynolds and Herbert Hamilton. Eric transitioned to Glory May 11, 2023.

Eric attended Benton Harbor Area Schools. At An early age, he worked alongside his grandfather Limmie Lee Reynolds, that’s where his work ethics began. Ole’granddad would say, “never be a stranger to hard work”, with that being said, Eric was a hard worker. He worked various jobs in Benton Harbor and surrounding areas doing lawncare, carpentry, painting, maintenance, and anything else he thought he could do.

Eric had a big heart and enjoyed helping others, he might talk a little trash (lol) but there wasn’t a person he didn’t meet that didn’t call him a FRIEND. He will truly be missed by ALL!!!

Eric will forever be remembered in the hearts of his parents, Donna R. Reynolds and Herbert Hamilton; his children, Elijah Sr., Uriah, E’nijah, Giovanni, Tylan and Treasure; his grandchildren, Elijah “Ej” and Harlem; his siblings, Willie Reynolds, Trenell Bradley, Cory Yarbrough, LaShell (Troy) Dixon, LaShonda Reynolds, and Tamara Ventress; special uncles and aunts, Ronnie Joe, Don, Red, Kathy and Joyce; his boys, Busta, Reggie, Shannon, Amp, El, Lil’Man, Mikey, Shawn L, Shawn’Dough, Perry and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Eric was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Limmie Lee and Annie B. Reynolds; paternal grandparents, Joel Hamilton, Myrtis Adams; uncles: Curtis Reynolds, Irvin Brown; aunts, Vivian Harper and Ollie Leonard.

O Lord my God, I entrust my loved ones in your care, and I pray you protect and guide them daily. Lord meets them at every point of their need and fulfill all their hearts desires. Be their keeper and grant them the opportunity to enjoy good health all the days of their lives.
