Elton Bledsoe, age 91, born January 6, 1930, also known to his friends as Blood, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 6 at Hospice of Southwestern Michigan, Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was born in Luxora, Arkansas to the parents of Robert and Pearlie Bledsoe. He attended school at Double Bridges. He also attended Princess Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Luxora. In 1946 the family relocated to Osceola, Arkansas. He later relocated to Benton Harbor, Michigan where he met and married his loving wife, Virginia Bledsoe on August 11, 1965.
Elton worked at Superior Steels for several years and spent numerous years at Michigan Standard Alloys until 1978 when he was seriously injured, forcing him into retirement. He loved his family. He considered himself a "jack of all trades." When he was in good health, you could find him any day under the hood of an automobile. Elton loved fishing, cooking meals, and occasionally trying his hand at home improvements.

Family members who preceded him in death are his wife Virginia Bledsoe, a son Carl Bledsoe, granddaughter Whitney Bledsoe, great-grandson Jaylen Roseburgh, parents Robert and Pearlie Bledsoe, One sister, Lillie Mae Thompson, two brothers William Earl Bledsoe, and Arthur Bledsoe.
