Obituary

On Thursday April 13, 2023, Eb’von Lamar Williams passed away peacefully from a long battle with Diabetes, at home in the arms of his cousin Makyia Reid in Greenville, SC.

Eb’von Lamar Williams, affectionately called “Von” by all that knew and truly loved him, was born to Ebony (Ebony) Williams and Sherry (Henry) Nichols on Wednesday May 6, 1992, at Mercy Memorial, in St. Joseph MI. He was first born to birth.

He was preceded in death by his maternal great grandparent’s Leroy Ferguson & Anna Mae Ferguson as well as Willie B Ervin & Johnnie Lee Ervin. Paternal Great Grandparents Geraldine Williams and Robert Williams. (6) Cousins Tre’von Edwards, Devante Fisher, Roger Henry, LaTonya Denton, Delray (Fella) Lloyd, DaQuarius R. Ervin, (1) Aunt Johnnie J Ervin (2) Uncles Demetrius C. Williams, Bobby Lamar and God father Harold Burton.

At an early age, everybody knew Von or Tank to be the chunky spoil kid on the block. If you gave him his granny, food and a basketball or a pair of Jordan’s you were his friend for life. Eb’von enjoyed basketball, skating, video games and hanging out with his many cousins and friends and of course all of his siblings in love. His cousin/brother partner in crime Anthony (Lil-Droop) Bradford they were inseparable. Also being a wonderful dad to “Siah”. Von was truly a Moma Boy. He loved both parents, but he thought his moma could make anything possible. Before Eb’Von health started too declined he would travel back to Nap to spend time with his dad and stepmom and siblings. He loved cracking jokes and laughing with his dad. They would often match each other Flyness. He enjoyed playing spades, music and watching 85 South. He also enjoyed talking sports and life with his stepdad (Henry). Von loved his lil helper McKenzie (Ken ball) as he called her.

In 2004 Eb’von moved to Nap with his mom and sister Lexi her (Brobie) as she would call him. It was in Nap where he made a lot friends. Eb’von was formally educated in Indianapolis school district where he attended Pike High School until his illness, he did receive his GED in 2011.

On June 23, 2018, Eb’von married Valerie Martin Williams to this union came the love of his life. Ahsiah Lamar Coates. Eb’von love for them was like no other. Eb’von was loved by so many. Eb’von was raised around a lot of strong men and women, so being a follower was not an option for him. A very respectful young man. 2 weeks before his untimely passing Eb’von gave his life back to Christ. Hallelujah!!!!!

In the midst of it all, “Von” will 4ever be remembered in the hearts of his wife Valerie Martin Williams of Benton Harbor MI; (1) Son  in love Ahsiah Lamar Coates; his loving father Ebony (Ebony) Williams of Indianapolis, IN; mother Sherry (Henry) Nichols of Greenville SC; Two loving grandmothers Dorothy (Pinky) Patterson, DeLores Williams of Benton Harbor MI; (2) Grandfathers, Johnny (Ruby) Ervin, DeWayne Hicks; (3) Sisters Er’Lexia Booth of Greenville, SC; La’Daija Maben of Indianapolis IN, Daija McDowell (2) brothers Ebony “EJ” Williams of Benton Harbor MI; Demetrius Williams of Indianapolis IN; (7) brothers in love Hendrevian Nichols, Henry Nichols Jr, Jalen Nichols, Makyi Gray, Deric Balark Jr. Darrius Balark, Da’Quantuis Harris; (2) sister in love, Aerial Balark, Terrace (Junie) Newman; Godmother Doris (Jimmie) Howard; Aunts; Carolynn Burton, Doletha Ferguson, Erica (Thomas) Harris, Melinda Rice, Nicole (Nikki) Harmon; Uncles Fredrick (Beverley) Broomfield, Darrell (Nookie) Ferguson, Charlie (Shenita) Patterson and a host God-siblings, loving aunts, uncles special cousins, classmates, family and friends.
