Earl Lamar Tucker was born June 24, 1944, in Monroe County, Alabama to the late John and Pearlie Tucker (Roberson). After enduring a chronic illness, Earl departed this life surrounded by his family on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at home in Benton Harbor, Michigan.
Earl served in the United States Army for two years as a Motor Pool technician where he maintained general files, personnel records, and other transportation documents involving the administration of motor vehicle operations. Later on, he worked as an employee of the Bendix Corporation, which made brake shoes and systems for automobiles. During the course of his life, he also held a number of jobs involving painting and lawn care.
Earl leaves cherished memories to his wife of 55 years, Beverly Ann Tucker (Johnson), with whom he was joined in Holy Matrimony on December 20, 1965. He was blessed to leave behind the joy of nine children: Stephen A. Tucker; Mark A. Tucker; Earl L. Tucker Jr.; Daniel (Janice) Tucker; Angela M. Tucker; Tonya E. (Robert) Taylor; Leon L. Tucker; Valerie A. Tucker; and Juandretta Oliver.
Earl was preceded in death by siblings: Woodrow (Hazel) Tucker; Leo (Margret) Tucker; Willie J. (Laura) Tucker; Ossie-Lee (Hubert) McNeil; Ida-Mae (Jimmy) Lawson; Creola (John) White; John Tucker Jr.; and Liston (Fannie-Bell) Tucker. He also leaves behind loving sisters: Sarah (Ernest) Hetherington; Annie-Pearl (Thomas) White; Susie (Clyde) Locke; Juanita (Lemon) Perdue; and Mae-John (Isaac) Haslem.
Earl also leaves behind a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; and other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
