Dwayne "Deeg" L. Tillman Jr.

Dwayne Lewis Tillman Jr, 17 years old, of Watervliet MI, transcended from his earthly life on August 2, 2024.

Dwayne, better known as DJ to his family and friends, was born September 23, 2006, into the nurturing and loving arms of his Mother Angel Mathison where he would remain.

DJ was ready to begin his Senior year at Watervliet High School where he would have graduated Class of 2025. Although a 10-year resident of Watervliet, DJ dreamed of rocking that Orange, black and white representing his hometown of Benton Harbor MI and being a TIGER. Just like his mom aunt and uncles did before him, often choosing to rock his moms class reunion shirt.

DJ was a crew member at Watervliet Burger King, and a lifelong member of the Oakridge Community Church youth groups.

Also affectionately known as DEEG by his mom, he was a light in the lives of all who had the pleasure to know him.

DJ had a love for music passed down from his mother and it ran very deep in his old school soul. DJ listened to all the best and when it came to singing, he would make a microphone out of anything and make any song he chose to sing his very own to the point you wouldn’t want to hear the song unless Deeg was singing it.

DJ had a special presence, he returned love to the ones who gave it to him. An only child DJ was more than just a first cousin he was a true brother to them, making sure he was given the experience of the sibling bond. Never ever forgetting to stop in or call to check on Gramma, TT and Uncles DJ will truly be missed, he leaves a major hole in his family.

Son, Grandson, Nephew, Cousin/Brother and Friend we will never let the world forget you.

DJ leaves vivid and loving memories in the hearts of his immediate family Mother Angel, Grandmother Rachel Mathison, Grandfather Willie {Nikki} Harris, Aunt Arryanna Mathison, Uncles Willie Mathison, Pierre Harris, Cory Mayes Jr and Antonio Paige. His Cousins Willie, Myron, William, Jamarkus, Anyla, Aarion, Zhy’Ana, Zhyon, DaSean, Daniel Jr , Zariah , Zaveon , Char’donnae , Pierre Jr , Pryce, Cormoni , Cory 3rd , Knyla , Uniqua and Cor’mya. Godmother Teresa McKay and God Siblings Edward Jr., Twania, Teonna, Edrean and Edriyana.

Plus, a host of other close family and friends.

Proceeding him on this journey his Great Grandmother Irene, Great Aunt Sharla, baby cousin Xavier and his friend Karnette Ellis.
