Dorice Wilcher

DORICE LYNN GUESS-WILCHER, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and deeply dedicated professional, passed away suddenly on November 25, 2025, at the age of 55. 

Born on March 24, 1970, in Benton Harbor, Michigan, Dorice was the cherished daughter of the late Leonard Guess Jr. and Sharon Guess. Dorice was a proud alumna of Benton Harbor High School, Class of 1988. She was a talented young musician, playing the clarinet in the Symphony Band and Wind Ensemble, a Del Teen and enjoyed the bonds of her social group, "The Women and the Nature Girls."

Driven by a steadfast commitment to service, great work ethic, she earned her degree in Human Services from Jordan College. Her education prepared her for a distinguished professional career and she has worked for over twenty years at Allina Health, where she served as a MedEligible Support Coordinator. Dorice was highly regarded by her colleagues and clients alike for her professionalism, deep compassion, and unwavering dedication to her work. 

Dorice's life was an ongoing testament to her powerful spirit. Beyond her career, she was known for her enduring passions, which included reading the Bible and spiritual devotionals. She enjoyed life's simple pleasures: listening to music, watching reality TV, and playing Mahjong on her phone. Her warmth, strength, and remarkable generosity touched everyone who knew her. She was a constant source of encouragement and support, and her powerful presence will be profoundly missed by all.

Dorice, affectionately referred to as "His Lovey Dovey" by her husband of 28 years, Monteal Wilcher, of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. Her legacy lives on through her three loving children: Riquia Lynn Wilcher, Sarea Marie Wilcher, Jamarre Giles Guess, and Daughter in love Kelsey Braucks all of Brooklyn Park, MN.

She was the proud grandmother and "Reecy" to her grandchildren, Demani Wiley, Rhaia Wiley, and Chandler Guess, all of Brooklyn Park, MN. She is survived by her siblings, Juan Guess and Fallon Guess (Atlanta, Georgia), and Misty (Tony) Brown of South Carolina. God Sister, Danielle (Quentin) Crook. Dorice will also be truly missed by her Aunt Beverly (Dennis) Scott. Mother-in-law, Gaynell Wilcher; her sister-in-law, Kiley (JD) Lewis; and brother-in-law, Timothy Lofton Jr. Her niece Naimah Stephens and nephew Ryan Guess, and great niece Erin Ransom. 

Dorice is everybody's favorite and will also be cherished by her extended family of cousins including Sheryl Finley, Eric Finley, Latasha Finley, Scooter Finley, Daisy Clark, Danny Clark, Mignon Clark, Angel Crayton, Joseph Clark, Kevin Moore, Donald Clark, Tyrone Robinson, Niki Guess, Shantan Guess, Vincent Guess, Jamal Guess, Brandon Guess, Shawn, Averell, and Reta.

Her devoted group of special friends, affectionately known as her "Sisters": Racquel "Monnie" Banks-Brown, Tricia Davis, Elisa Lewis-White, Angelette Barnes, Dana Harris-Slagle, Destiny Burton, Olivia Alston and Jasmine Spencer.

Dorice was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Guess Jr. and Sharon Guess. Maternal grandparents, Mary E. Williams and Ira Williams of Birmingham, and her paternal grandparents, Leonard Guess Sr. and Doris Robinson-Guess. Uncles: Norman and Robbin Guess, and her special great-aunts, Beverly Clark and Bonita Finley.
