Debra Joe (Sharp) Posey, 57, of Niles, transitioned from labor to reward on Sunday, April 19, 2026.
Debra was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan, on December 24, 1968. She graduated in 2013 with a Business Degree from Brown Mackie College. She worked as a County Clerk at the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department in Niles, Michigan.
On March 14, 2003, she married the love of her life, McNeal Posey. Together they raised their two children, Joshua and Destiny Posey. Debra enjoyed spending quiet time with the Lord, working out, admiring nature, and caring for her garden, Serenity. She also loved spending quality time with family and friends and trying new recipes for her vegan lifestyle.
She was an active member of Community C.O.G.I.C. in Benton Harbor before relocating to Spiritual Vision C.O.G.I.C. in Niles, where she served as church secretary and a member of the praise team. After COVID, she joined Solid Rock Word Ministries in Coloma, where she continued to serve faithfully as the Pastor’s Secretary and on the praise team.
Debra was known for sending out daily encouraging scriptures, as well as her powerful words of wisdom and heartfelt prayers. She touched many lives everywhere she went. She was a strong rock for many, a shoulder to cry on, and always had a caring heart and spirit. She was always willing to lend a helping hand without expecting anything in return. Debra lived her faith and led by example as a devoted believer in Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Sharp; her brother, Karl Sharp; and her sister, Tangela Turner.
Debra leaves to cherish her memory her husband, McNeal Posey; her children, Anthony (Brooke) Sharp, Joshua Posey, and Destiny Posey; her stepchildren, Nichol (Rodney) and Michael; her grandchildren, Jalin Sharp, Anthony Sharp Jr., Zakeese Anderson, and Khloe Terrell; her siblings, Terry (Tommy) Holloway of Benton Harbor and Cathy (Anthony) Coulter of Lawrenceville, Georgia; her brothers- and sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, godchildren, church family, and extended family and friends.
