Deacon Isaac Parker, a proud and decorated veteran who faithfully served his country for four years, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025, at the age of 87.
Born on February 8, 1938, in Aldrich, Alabama, to the late Isaac and Levonia Parker, Deacon Parker lived a life rooted in faith, service, and love for family.
He dedicated his life to Christ at an early age and united in Christian fellowship with Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. John Watson. He remained a devoted servant of the Lord, faithfully serving on the Deacon Board until his health no longer allowed him to do so.
Isaac was educated in Montevallo, Alabama, where he graduated from Montevallo High School, Class of 1957. He later pursued higher education at Morehouse University. Following his studies, he built a strong career, working with Clark’s Equipment Company, the Berrien County Road Commission, and the Social Security Office, among other positions.
Deacon Parker was a man of strength, integrity, and compassion, who touched countless lives through his service to both his church and community.
He leaves to cherish his memory four sons: Issac Parker III, Bruce Richardo Parker, Aaron Parker, and William Charles Parker, all of Benton Harbor; one sister, Carrie Ford of Chicago, IL; his beloved grandchildren, Patrick, Emisha, Andrew, Jackie, Christopher, Steven, Zachary, Allison, John, Devonta, Bruce, and Bryson; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Alfredia Parker, whom he deeply adored and honored; his parents; and his brother, William Carson.
Deacon Isaac Parker’s legacy of faith, family, and service will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
