On November 24, 1968, David Tyree Archibald was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan to Roosevelt Jenkins and Vera Lee (Archibald). Friends and family knew him as "Dayday," a nickname given to him by his older brothers. David grew up close in age to his older brother LeAndre, affectionately known as "Teet." The two were inseparable, so much so that family simply referred to them as "Teet and Dayday"—if you saw one, you could count on the other being close by.
David will always be considered the epitome of calm, cool, and collected. Well-known and well-liked, he maintained a low-key composure. David had an unmatched love for music—there wasn’t a song he didn’t know. His style was always ahead of its time; he made waves in the 1990s as he rolled through town in his black and green pickup truck, outfitted with speakers in the back.
In addition to living in Benton Harbor, David also lived and worked in Indianapolis, Indiana for 20 years. He returned to his hometown of Benton Harbor to be with loved ones as he took on what would become a multi-year battle with cancer. Never one to complain, he had a steady patience and determination to enjoy life through it all. David peacefully transitioned on October 16, 2024, at 55 years old.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; (2) sisters: Ruth Thelma Archibald, Clarice Archibald; (3) nephews: Eric Jenkins, Travis Paster, Marcus Ford.
