Cynthia E. Buckner

Cynthia Elaine Buckner, 61 of Benton Harbor MI, departed this life on Friday July 18, 2025 at home surrounded by family.  She was born April 2,1964 to the union of Leroy Sr. and Gladys Buckner. 

Cynthia was a 1982 graduate of Benton Harbor High School.  She had been employed for over 10 years at Meijers as well as Spectrum Healthcare and was most recently employed by Pace of Southwest Michigan, utilizing her 15 year licensure as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Cynthia was an active member of Trinity Church of God in Christ.  She enjoyed baking, spending time laughing and joking around with her family and friends. She loved watching her favorite TV shows, Sanford & Son and The Beverly Hillbillies. 

Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents Leroy Sr. and Gladys Buckner, brothers Leroy Buckner Jr. and Timothy Buckner, nephews Marcus Purnell Jr. and Devin Williams, grandparents Jesse and Rosie Lusk and William and Julia Randolph and special friend Jessie Sims.

Cynthia leaves to cherish her memory her beloved one and only son Remington Buckner along with 2 sisters Shari Lusk and Shermeka LaQuan Gordon, 3 nephews Darrell Holiday, Marcus Purnell Sr. and Bruce Benson, 2 nieces Charnisea Lusk and Jalisa Boyd, 4 great nephews Joshua Holiday, Damarion Purnell, Kaleb Purnell and Santana Moody, 3 great nieces Char’Naja Moody, Serenity Purnell and Morgan Purnell, God Daughter Ander McCoy, close friend Patrice Harris, extended brother Lamont McCoy and a host of family and friends.
