Curtis Greer

Curtis Morris Greer, born on August 7, 1958 to Lois Spates-Greer, in Jackson, MS, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2024, at River Ridge Rehabilition Nursing Home in Niles, MI. Curtis was a proud resident of Benton Harbor, MI and graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1977.

Later in life, Curtis met his see soul mate Mary Lynn Donald, whom he married, April 21st 1989; to their union four children were born; Amanda, Justin, India and Melanie. Though their marriage did not last, he did his best to remain an active parent.

Curtis had many skillful talents that he utilized in various job roles until he was physically unable to work. 

Curtis enjoyed fishing, either with his friends or by himself. If he wasn’t doing that, then he was enjoying a cold beer, watching sports with his dear friend,  Curtis Griffith. He was passionate about his children, grandchildren and family. Curtis was very much loved and will be dearly missed. 

Curtis leaves many to cherish his memory, including two daughters: India (Jerome) Beene and Melanie Greer; three grandchildren Ka’Mya Greer, Jeromy Beene and Dayton Summers; three sisters, Estella Spates, Christine (John) Mays, Shirley (Vernon) Bradford; three brothers, Charles Richard Spates, Thomas Vestie Greer, Paul (Marie) Greer.

He is preceded in death by his mother Lois Spates and two of his children, Amanda and Justin Greer.
