Clory Williams Obituary

Clory Mae Williams , 80, of Benton Harbor transitioned from this life on Monday, March 01, 2021, at Spectrum Health Lakeland Hospital. Services are scheduled for Friday, March 12, 2021,  at Greater Community Christian Fellowship, 870 Nate Wells Sr. Dr., Benton Harbor, MI 49022 . Visitation will start at 10:00 a.m. and services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma, MI.

Clory was born March. 17, 1940, in Little Rock Arkansas to the union of Robert and Parthena Johnson.

Clory relocated to Benton Harbor, MI in 1954 from Cairo, MO. Clory attended LakeShore High School. She met Reverend Jessie Lee Williams and they instantly connected because of their southern roots. They fell in love, and were married on February 19, 1966.  And to their union (6) six children were born.

Clory and Jessie owned a restaurant and store in the early 70’s. She also worked at Mercy Hospital, Bridgeman Casting, Clean America and Bosch. She was a dedicated employee working long hours as a grinder in the machine shop and on the assembly line.  Every department looked forward to seeing her because she got the job done. Clory continued her tenure with Bosch for 30 years until she retired in 2005.

Clory volunteered her time and was a devoted and committed member of The Church of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ under the leadership of the Late Bishop Wrennie Bennet and the late Pastor Johnny McComb.  Clory served for many years as the head of the Usher board. Years later she expanded her spiritual journey by joining New Horizons Outreach Ministry in 2015 under the leadership of Apostle Dennis J. Givens until her untimely passing.

Clory was known to many for her beautiful and giving spirit, infectious smile, and her love and compassion to help others. She encouraged many to push through their circumstance. “Be confident and strong don’t forget who God created you to be." Clory, enjoyed singing, laughing, cooking, fashion, watching her favorite television shows, her grandkids, daily reading of the Bible and being a greeter at New Horizons Outreach Ministry.

Clory lived each day with an everlasting love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in which she displayed His love through her kindness to others.

Clory leaves to cherish her memories: her children Lamont J. (Patricia)  Williams of Las Vegas, NV., Samuel Williams of Elkhart, IN.,  Jessie L. (Rita) Williams, Claire (Shaun) Pargo,  Immanuel Williams and Leonora (Nathan) Williams – Smith, all of Benton Harbor, MI.  Siblings, Henry Johnson, Willis Johnson Sr., Gretha McNeal and Joseph Johnson and a host of grand children, nieces, nephew, family and friends.

Clory was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Parthena Johnson,  her husband Reverend Jessie Lee Williams, and nine siblings.
