Clarence Was born on January 4th, 1953, in Cleveland Ohio, to the late Clarence Potts Sr. and Viola Daniels. Clarence was raised in Benton Harbor Michigan with his mother Viola Daniels and her lifelong companion L.V. White. Clarence accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was a member of Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Benton Harbor Michigan, under the leadership of Rev. James O Childs. Clarence loved to spend time with his family and friends. His passion was gambling, cars and dressing nice. He dressed so nice; he later gained the name “Baby Ice.” Clarence was a very hard worker. For many of years, he previously worked at Arnt Asphalt in Benton Harbor, MI.
Clarence leaves not to mourn but fond memories in the hearts of his children; Dielista (John) Wright of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, Ashley Potts of Benton Harbor, MI, Clarence Potts III of Louisville, Kentucky and Omarion Potts of Cleveland, Ohio. Five bonus children Jonathan Guyton, Ximena Suggs, Angel Guyton, Kelly Ferguson and Myquele Ferguson. Grandchildren; Tricia Wright, John Wright III, Erionna Floyd, Eric Floyd Jr, Erinn Floyd, Joziah Potts, Jamarion Potts, Clarence Potts IV, Trinity Potts, Nevaeh Spence, Jaylen Ferguson, Lashon Stoutmiles, Cortez White and one great grandchild Calem Collins. Sisters; Elnora (Lewis) Clayborn of Benton Harbor and Renee Potts of Cleveland Ohio. Brothers: Jessie (Angie) Daniels and Pervis (Wana) Daniels of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Augusta Daniels and Johnnie (Glenda) Daniels of Benton Harbor, Michigan, and Carl (Towanda) Daniels of Indianapolis, Indiana. A host of nieces and nephews.
Clarence was preceded in death by Wife Stacey Carter-Potts, his parents Clarence Potts Sr and Viola Daniels; Stepfather Gus Daniels; Children Roderick Potts and Sherry Guyton; Sisters Ora Daniels and Diana Plunkett; Aunts Oleatha Walls, Lulamae Albert, Thonia Harris and Jessie Mae Wilson; Uncles James Glespie, Willie Glespie, Joe McGee, and Jack McGee; Sister-in-law Brenda Daniels; Brother- in- laws Steve Plunkett and Lewis Clayborn; Nieces Cherece Sims and Lorriane Dzick.
