Christopher Anthony Catching

On Thursday, August 6, 2020, Christopher Anthony Catching, loving son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend departed from this life and was taken away from us at the tender age of 29 years old.

Christopher was born on June 19, 1991, in Berrien County, Benton Harbor, Michigan of Michael Thomas Catching and Joycelyn Reynolds. Christopher also leaves behind his stepmother, LaTasha Catching to cherish him, as well.

Christopher was preceded in death by his maternal Grandmother Gloria Jean Reynolds in 2018’; His paternal Grandfather Clifton Anthony “Tony” Catching, Sr. in 1997’.

 Christopher leaves behind his paternal Grandmother, Glowdean Catching of Greenbelt, Maryland.  She loves all of her grands and great-grandchildren; however, it was something about Christopher that she loved and admired more than most.  She really cherished Christopher, he was her firstborn grandchild and she adored him, more or less stole her heart. She enjoyed keeping him for the summers, sending him to Summer Camp, along with her other grands, Nina, Nigel, and Jasmine, and do what grandparents do. Christopher possessed such a beautiful smile, that he truly inherited from his grinning and cackling father and his mother who always have a beautiful smile on her face that simply says, welcome.

Christopher will always be remembered for his beautiful smile, kind and generous heart, the compassion he had for others, and just the fun-loving person, he was!

Christopher leaves behind his maternal grandfather Arthur Lee Reynolds II and his wife Nellie Reynolds of Los Angeles, California.

Christopher leaves to cherish him, two sisters, Jasmine Catching of Columbus, Ohio: and Madison Catching of Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Two brothers, Dontrell Gulledge and Michael Thomas Catching, Jr. both of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Christopher has four paternal aunts, Lisa Lynn Berry (Kevin) of Lithonia, Georgia; Michelle Catching-Wilson (Victor) of Benton Harbor, Michigan; Uwimana Catching-Bush (Norris) of Birmingham, Alabama; and Kayla Anderson of Stuttgart, Arkansas. One maternal aunt, Cassandra Lloyd of Columbus, Ohio.

Christopher has 3 paternal uncles, Lauren Charles Brown of Greenbelt, Maryland; Tyrell Catching (Jessica); and Tomiaz Catching, both of Stuttgart, Arkansas. One maternal uncle, Arthur Lee Reynolds III of Columbus, Ohio.

Christopher has a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and other relatives to cherish his memory.
