Charline Harris

Charline Harris, 61 of Benton Harbor, MI departed this life on September 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and friends at Corwell Health St. Joseph, MI.

Charline was born on September 05, 1964, in Charleston, MO to both the late Otha D. Harris and Irene Cury-Harris. Charline was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend and caretaker at heart. Caring for many others from the elderly to newborns, which included family, friends and strangers.

Charline had a passion for cooking; you were sure to find her in the kitchen for every occasion. There was nothing she would not or could not cook. Anything she prepared was from the heart and she took great pride in doing so. She also enjoyed cleaning, fishing, rummaging and decorating just to name a few, but she enjoyed holidays and family time most.

Charline received her education from the Benton Harbor Area School District.  As an adult she worked in many different capacities. She resided in Elkhart, IN for many years, during which time she worked in management at a local laundry facility.  Upon her return home to Benton Harbor, she worked with the Senior Citizens program and the Mosaic Resale store both located in downtown Benton Harbor during her tenure. Her most recent employer was Goodwill Industries of Benton Harbor where she worked as a sales associate.

Charline is survived by  her two children: daughter; Latisha (Bryan) Thompson, son; Ivra Haris their father and longtime companion and friend Ivy Yarbrough Jr., sisters; Shirley Jean Edwards, Mary Alice Gregory, Othella Harris all of Benton Harbor, MI. Aunts; Nellie McCoy of Benton Harbor, MI and Rosie Lampkin of Toledo, OH., Uncle; James Harris of Gary, IN., Grandchildren; Ivyonna Harris, JaBria Thompson, Ivy Harris,  Jaiden Thompson and Adriona Harris. (A special niece whom she considered a daughter) LaQuetta D. Harris and daughter in love, Ashley Holloway.

Charline was proceeded in death by her parents; Otha and Irene Haris, paternal grandparents; John and Leora Harris, maternal grandparents; Willie and Ruby Curry, brothers; Otha D. Harris Jr., and Mitchell Harris, sisters; Jesse Marie Harris, Lottie Mae Harris and Arline Harris, nephews; Myland Harris and Duraron Harris and a special mother in love; Georgia Mae Yarbrough.
