Champayne Martin Obituary

It was once stated in a song that a picture paints a thousand words; and it will always be that beautiful smile and pretty face for us-Champayne, the one that lit up every room she ever entered.  It is with overwhelming sadness, but also with an assured confidence in Christ Jesus that we celebrate the beautiful life of our beloved, Champayne D’Lynn Martin.

The beautiful life of Champayne D’Lynn Martin was born into time on Wednesday, December 08, 1993, in St. Joseph, Michigan, to her mother, Stephanie D. Martin and her father the late, Lawrence Purnell Martin.

A devoted and caring mother to her three loving children, a beloved daughter, a beautiful and loving sister, a loving cousin, an amazing niece, and a loyal and true friend, Champayne D’Lynn Martin, peacefully departed this life on Sunday, February 16, 2025, in South Bend, Indiana.

Champayne accepted Christ as her Lord and Savoir and was a member of Solid Rock Word Ministry under the leadership of Pastor Kerwin Hudson Sr.   Champayne loved her church family and receiving the Word of God.

Champayne was raised in the City of South Bend, IN, where she received her formal education in the South Bend Schools.  In 2012, Champayne graduated from Niles High School, Niles, MI.

A mother’s love is so selfless, and it was evident that Champayne truly loved her children unconditionally.  Champayne children were the joy of her heart.

Champayne was a true young Queen. She was a Queen who traveled the world and captured beautiful moments of her life in pictures.  The love and special bond Champayne shared singing with her sister, Ashley was unbreakable and everlasting.

Champayne will forever be remembered in the hearts of her (3) loving and amazing children, A’Lijah Murphy, A’Liveah Rogers, and Alani Shantel Manu-Dominic; her mother Stephanie D. Martin; her grandmother, Bobbie Jean Winters Colier; (4) sisters, Ashley (Dustin) Elkins, Saunda Williams, Lacrehia Campbell, and Jackee Campbell; (8) brothers, Martell Hobbs, Antwan Winters, Tyrese Winters, Toney Cosey, Purnell Martin, Lawrence P. Martin, Lawrence Jr. (Jayden) Martin, and Darius Martin; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Champayne was proceeded in death by her father Lawrence Purnell Martin, her maternal grandmother Cornelia Martin, and her uncle Charles Martin.
