“In life we have pleasures with our loved ones, we have sorrows and joy; but thank God for the memories death cannot destroy” Again death has invaded the ranks of the Lloyd family, carrying away our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend, Carolyn Delois Bradley, affectionately called “Sista” by her family.
Carolyn Delois Bradley, the daughter of the late Hersey Miller and Marth D. Brady was born Thursday, June 25, 1953, in Helen, Arkansas.
At an early age Carolyn dedicated her life to Christ as evidenced by water baptism under the leadership of the late Rev. C. M. Jones Sr. of Beautiful Gate Baptist Church. In 1988, she united in Christian fellowship with Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral guidance of the late Rev. Joseph N. Hines. Under Pastor Hines leadership, Carolyn sung in the Adult Choir, where she was often requested to sing the alter call song “Prayer for Me.” Carolyn held close to her faith in the Lord, she spent each morning in prayer and reading daily Bible devotions.
In July of 1971, Carolyn united in marriage to the late Danny Bradley Sr.; to this union of 16 years four children were born.
Carolyn, a beacon of warmth and kindness, will forever be remembered for her kind heart, hilarious laughter, her generous spirit, and beautiful smile. She was always the life of the gathering, and her presence would instantly light up the room. Carolyn’s joy stemmed from the precious moments she shared with her family and friends. Although she enjoyed eating good food, she was very particular in who did the cooking.
In the steeliness of the day on Thursday, February 8, 2024, our beloved Carolyn Bradley “Sista” quietly pulled off mortality and put on immortality, making the transition to her heavenly home.
Precious memories of Carolyn’s life will forever live in the heart of her children, Melinda Miller, Danny Bradley Jr. (Jacqi), Kettisha Bradley (Tyrone), and Stephanie Bradley (Taz); 24 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Laura Lloyd; one brother, David Smith; two aunts, Flora Hines and Doris Applewhite; her mother-in-law, Annie Bradley; three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; daughter-in-law, Jazzalle Bradley; her best friend of 20 plus years, Katrina Shivers; two close friends, RJ and Paulette; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son Javone Corhn, sister Dorothy Miller, brother Davis Powell Sr., her grandparents, Dan and O. C. Lloyd; aunts and uncles that helped rear her, Rosie Glasper, Ocsie Parker, Alberta Buels, Lee Dale Lloyd, and Adell Lloyd; and many other family members and friends who have journeyed home to Glory.
