Candis Channell Poole

Candis Channel Poole 33 formerly of Benton Harbor, transitioned on August 15, 2018, in Indianapolis IN. 

Candis Channell Poole was a beautiful, bright, and vibrant young lady who loved and cherished her family. Candis was born August 29, 1985, at Hurley Hospital in Flint, Michigan to the union of Dwayne Allen and MaryAlice Poole. Candis moved to Benton Harbor, Michigan in 1999 to reside with her mother and stepfather Jessie B. Adams. Candis attended Benton Harbor public schools and graduated as a BH “Tiger”. Candis continued her education at Delta and Mott College until her illness interfered with her studies, to then later find her purpose and passion, to follow in her Mother steps, as she completed her studies to become a professional Cosmetologist. Candis loved to draw, read and write poetry and her favorite character was “Winnie the Pooh”, and her favorite color was Baby Blue in which she expressed her great fondness of him (Winnie the Pooh). Candis loved being with her family and her family loved her sweet, kind and soft-spoken voice. She was always positive and upbeat even in the midst of life challenges. Candis was friendly and had many friends and was known as (Tasty-Kiwi). Candis was always known to be a person of great strength in motivating herself and others. She was an obedient child and always wore a “BIG” beautiful smile. She knew no strangers. Candis was a very forgiving and trusting person. Candis was Baptised and excepted Jesus as THE WAY, THE TRUTH, and LIGHT of her salvation. Candis made up her mind despite life challenges, she will continue to trust and lean on Him.

Candis was preceded in transition by her Paternal Grandmother Annie Lee Poole, her Brothers Santino and Dezmeion Poole, Uncle Donald Poole Sr., and Cousin Kinley Poole. She leaves to forever cherish her memory: Her Father Dwayne Poole, Mother MaryAlice and Step Father Jesse B. Adams, Brother’s Samuel (Burris) Poole, Sirshun (Burris) Poole, Dwayne Poole Jr, McKinley Poole, Ricoleone Poole, and Sister Ciara Adams. Longtime childhood friend/champion Antenario Lee (Nari), special nephew Mark Mclaurin; and a host of aunts, uncles, in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Psalm 121 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and they come in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Legacy farewell service will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018, at Greater Grace Church 660 Nickerson, Benton Harbor, MI 49022, with visitation starting at 10:00 am followed by services at 11:00 am. A twilight light service will be held at Robbins Brothers Funeral Home on Thursday, August 23, 2018, from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm.
