Calvin Williams

Calvin Williams was born on January 8, 1974, at Mercy Hospital in Benton Harbor, Michigan to Calvin Furlough and the late Elizabeth Williams.  He spent his younger years in Benton Harbor, Michigan until his mother relocated to Kalamazoo, Michigan for employment.

Calvin attended elementary and high school in the Kalamazoo, Michigan school district later moving to Crystal City, Virginia to live with his stepfather.   Calvin resided throughout the Midwest as an adult in Indiana, Ohio and Michigan. Calvin had a long career working in the distribution and manufacturing industry, most recently working as a forklift driver.  He also worked in the masonry business as a bricklayer for over a decade.  

Calvin had a light-hearted and generous spirit. He loved spending time with his family and friends laughing, watching movies and joking around.  Calvin would enter the room with a big smile calling everyone by their special given nicknames, his favorite football team was the New England Patriots. Calvin was always willing to help and was a reliable source of comfort for those in need no matter the task(s).

Calvin's love and affection for his family as a child continued into his adulthood.  Calvin departed this life on December 30, 2025, in Sturgis, Michigan at the age of 51 years old.   

Calvin will be missed by those who loved him the most he is survived by his father, Calvin (Ruth) Furlough of Benton Harbor, Michigan; his son, Calvin Williams of Jacksonville, Arkansas; sisters Dawnekia Ellis of Indianapolis, Indiana and Renee Williams of Ypsilanti, Michigan; nephew David Brown Jr. of Indianapolis, Indiana; nieces Jasmine Kiara Heard-Brown of Indianapolis, Indiana and Dajha Me'Chelle Brown of Indianapolis, Indiana; great niece, Kayleigh Brown of Indianapolis, Indiana and his partner, Felicia Wiley of Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Calvin was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Williams of; maternal grandparents, Ida B. and Johnnie Williams; paternal grandparents, Essie Furlowgh, George Williams, and special cousin/brother Teherhan "Tahan" Furlowgh.
