Brenda F. Dorris

Our beloved mother Brenda Fay Dorris passed away on February 25, 2026, at the age of 70, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Benton Harbor, Mi. on April 28, 1955, she was the daughter of the Lee and Cleo Erma Dorris. She studied at Ivy Tech Community College and earned the certification of Certified Occupancy Specialist to later transition into the position of recertification specialist for River Terrace Apartments. Brenda was known for her sharp wit, kindness, professionalism, and strong will to help others succeed in finding somewhere to call home.

She was dedicated to being the best mother she could for her boys, she was able to teach them a lot of the lessons needed to survive in this life, giving all she could to prepare them for times in life that she could not be the saving grace for them. Brenda is survived by her children Corey LaWayne Dorris (Benton Harbor, Mi.) and BreAl Leroy Dorris (Benton Harbor, Mi.). Also surviving her are her grandchildren Camil Dorris, Corey Dorris Jr., Corissa Dorris, BreAl Dorris Jr., Adisyn Dorris, her great granddaughter Dynver Dorris, her sister Linda Dorris, her favorite niece Veronique Dorris, and a loving host of countless family members.

Brenda was preceded in death by Mother Cleo Erma Dorris (McLemoresville, Tn.), Father Lee Dorris (Kilmichael, Ms.), brother Edward Coleman, brother Richard Coleman, and brother Stanley Dorris.
