Mother Bobbie Ray Brown was born on January 30, 1938, in Pickens, Arkansas to Melvin and Pinkie Miller. She passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024
Mother Brown was united in marriage on June 5, 1954, to the late Rev. Jessie Brown Sr. Rev. Jessie Brown was the love of her life. To this union was born eleven children.
She was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church for over fifty years, which is now known as Holy Ground Worship Center. Mother Brown served as the Beautifying Committee President, Senior Choir Member, and on the Mothers Board. Mother Brown loved Pastor Green and her Holy Ground Worship Center Family. Her favorite song was Now I Am Sealed. She loved spending time with her family and talking to people about the Lord. Mother Brown was a hard worker and worked at Orchard Grove Nursing Facility.
She leaves to cherish her memory five daughters and three sons, Lora (Michael Sr) Hill, Maxine (Ollie) Talley, Diane (Jimmy Jr) Young, Mary Brown, of Benton Harbor Michigan, and Ella Brown of Indianapolis Indiana, Edmond (Jacqueline) of Escondido California, James of Boston, Massachusetts and Willie (Tanya) of South Bend, Indiana, two sisters Rosalee (Robert) Dixon, Queen Thompson, two brothers Louis Gordon, and Leon Penn. She also has over 180 grands great-grands and great-great-grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband ( Rev Jessie Brown), daughter Catherine Cole, son Jessie Brown Jr, three brothers, Felton Johnson, Ernest Penn, and Holly Penn, son sister Dorothy Wilson, and a host of grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
