Betty Jean Beauford was born on April 5, 1943, in Earl, Arkansas, and peacefully departed on November 27, 2025, at Royalton Manor long-term care facility in St. Joseph, MI.
Betty worked for many years as a devoted Certified Nursing Assistant in long-term care, where her gentle heart and compassion left a lasting impact on the residents she served.
Betty had a remarkable gift for cooking, creativity and loved arts and crafts of every kind—sewing, crocheting, floral arranging. If it could be made, she could create it with beauty and care. She passed that same creative spark down to her daughters. She also cherished time spent with her grandchildren, enjoyed tending to her flower garden and found joy in social gatherings with her friends and family. Betty accepted Jesus Christ into her life at an early age and faithfully served as a long-time member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Benton Harbor, MI. Her kindness, creativity, and unwavering faith will be forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Betty leaves to cherish her memory of five children: daughters Karen (Dennis) Diggs, Denise Beauford Lee, and Shondise Beauford. Sons Tyrone A. Beauford, and Tyrone C. (Annette) Beauford. Three sisters Murly Smith, Vickie (Frank) Barnes and Christina Smith. Seven brothers Willie (Ethel) Beauford, Claude (Mary) Smith, Steven (Zanette) Smith, Lawrence (Caren) Smith, Michael (Charmetra), Ricky (Chrissy) Smith, James Todd Smith and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Betty was proceeded in death by her mother Bessie Beauford Smith, daughter Ursulla Beauford Allen, and brothers Charles Vales, Wallace Smith and Victor Smith; great grandson, Marlo Beauford.
