Bennie W. Horton also known as Honey Bunch, by his loving wife, departed this life on October 3, 2022, surrounded by his loving family at his residence.
He was born in Blytheville, Arkansas on December 28, 1951, to Susie M. Horton and Judge A. Horton. He was raised by his mother and stepfather James A. Kennedy in Peoria, IL.
He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was born again in 1992.
Mr. Horton attended and graduated from Manual High School in 1973. He later moved to Benton Harbor, MI, and was employed by Robert Bosch, LLC, and retired after 34 years of employment. Bennie was married to Annie J. Horton and shared 42 years of happiness together. He was a jokester and loved spending time and showing hospitality to family and friends. He often traveled to Peoria to visit family and surprise his mother with gifts. He never met a stranger and was always ready to assist others in need.
Bennie is survived by his loving wife Annie J. Horton, daughter Pennie Horton, and Stepdaughters- Lisa (Vette) and Latonia (Tammy) Allen all of Benton Harbor, MI. Grandson-Demontrea Allen of Newport News, VA, and granddaughter Joneisha (Montez) Bowens of Charlotte, NC, whom he and his wife raised. One grandson Lance Brown, two granddaughters-Brianna Depriest and De’Erica Depriest, and three great-grandchildren. Four brothers-Willie Buchanon of Michigan, Sam and Johnny of IL, and Omar of Georgia, three sisters-Claudia Butler-Dupree of MN, Earline Horton of IL, and Darlene Horton of IN, a host of nieces, and nephews who loved him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, eight siblings, one sister-in-law, and six brothers-in-law.
