Barry Douglas Windmon born July 5, 1966, in St. Joseph, MI. He was a beloved Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and Friend. Barry fought a good fight until September 19, 2025, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI surrounded by family. Born to Phineelasteen “Barbara” Mckenzie and the late John D. Poindexter II.
Barry loved his family, fishing, skating, and dancing for the camera. His favorite phrase “This is WZUP what’s up.” Barry attended Benton Harbor High School. Barry worked at Levalley Chevrolet, Benton Harbor Area Schools and various odd jobs.
Barry leaves to cherish his memory seven children, Barry Windmon Jr. of Overland KS, Lemiccea Windmon of South Bend IN, Devon Armstrong of CA, Christopher Windmon, Tavione Whitley both of Kalamazoo MI, Damien Windmon of Benton Harbor, MI and Serenity Windmon of Raytown, MO; five sisters, Carol Poindexter, Cindy Henry both of Benton Harbor MI, Beverly (Keith) Davis of Maricopa AZ, Vickie (Jeffery) Brown of Benton Harbor, MI and Barbara (James) York of Berrien Springs, MI; three brothers, Jerome Windmon of Thailand, Randy Windmon of Kalamazoo MI, and Gary (Antonia) Poindexter of Berrien Springs MI, 14 Grandchildren; 2 Great-Grandchildren; a close friend Charles Harris and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, John D Poindexter III and Richard Poindexter (broth his sister, Donna Poindexter; his grandparents George and Willie Mae King and John and Gladys Poindexter.
