The bible speaks of the various seasons that God has planned for His people….. It tells us to everything there is a time and a season to every purpose under the Heaven! Sis. Barbara Fryer reached the end of her season early Sunday morning, July 25, 2021 peacefully at Spectrum Health Lakeland Hospital. Sis. “Bobbi” as she was lovingly known….. was born July 10, 1945 in Hammond, Louisiana to the late Andrew Guidry and Ola Mae (Wilson) Guidry. The family relocated to Benton Harbor in the late 1940’s. She accepted Christ at a very early age and was baptized under the pastorage of the late Rev. M. H. Raspberry; she continued her membership under the late Rev. Milton P. McAfee. She continued her Christian belief when joining Ebenzer Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Walter Brown. Sis. Bobbie later fellowshipped at Refreshing Fountain Church under the leadership of Rev. Melvin Burton.
On January 29, 1966 Bobbie was united in holy matrimony to the late Samuel Frye. She received her formal education through the Benton Harbor Area Schools. She was employed by Dynac Company and Orchard Grove Nursing Home until she retired to take care of her ailing husband….who preceded her in death.
Loving memories will always be in the hearts of those she left behind….2 children: a son: Andrey L. Guidry, Sr., and a daughter: Simone (Isaiah) Kiser both of Benton Harbor; 2 grandchildren: Andrey L. Guidry, Jr. and Ronesea King; 9 great-grandchildren: Aniyah and Ahmari Mills, Andrey the third, Andreyas and Major Guidry; Madison and Allyson King, Carter Peterson and Taylor Dortch, all of Benton Harbor; Brothers: David Looney, Larry Bell, Jr. both of Benton Harbor, and Eddie (Betty) Robinson of Hammond, LA; Sisters: Shirley Looney, Terri and Keisha Guidry, all of Benton Harbor; and a host of Aunts, Uncles, niece, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Andy Wilse, step-mother, Leola Guidry, Maternal grandparents and her Paternal grandparents.
Our beloved Bobbi fought a good fight…she finished her course and kept the faith and there is a crown of righteousness awaiting her. Her season was ended but her legacy lives on.
