Ayria Marquisa McDowell

Born December 5th, 1984 was an inspiration to us all, Ayria Marquisa McDowell (37). Better known as “MeMe”. Born to Willa Raphaela Evans-McDowell and Glenn Edward McDowell Sr., Ayria was a mother of five, a grandmother of three, a sister, a best friend, a cousin, a great-niece, and just an amazing person if you were lucky enough to know and love her. She was the light in the hearts of all she embraced. She was funny, smart, kind, loving, had a smile that lit up the room, and oh so fierce beyond measures. She loved to have a good time and loved her family even more.

Ayria worked for Aludyne Co. formerly known as Chasix at the time of her premature departure from this unforgiving world. She was well-loved and will be missed by many.

Ayria leaves to cherish her memories of her three daughters, Ayanna Persephone Carter, JaMya Jashay Sims, and Amani Zariah Dumas; her two sons Elijah Amarion McDowell and Ayron Isaiah McDowell; and her God-Daughter Zia Nicole Marquisa Carter. She leaves her grandchildren Kayson Jamari Carter-Moore, Elijah Zaire McDowell Jr., And Aaliyah Ayria Unique McDowell, her sibling's brother Glenn McDowell Jr. and sister Kyla McDowell; her aunts Robin (Dandy) Hamilton, Kimberly (Donald) Sykes, LaTanya Floyd, and Rhonda (Don) Rimpson; and her uncles Kevin Dixon and Jerry Evans.

Ayria leaves behind close cousins Deontae Randolph, Lavonda Parker-Dyson, and Natasha Parker; special friends Patricia L. Carter, Zranda Boone, and Jasmine Jackson and best friend Grace “Gracie” Cooper. She also leaves a host of nephews, nieces, and friends that were more like family. 

Ayria was preceded in death by both her parents Willa Dickson and Glenn McDowell Sr.; Grandmother’s Daisy Dixon and Hollie Evans; her aunts Deborah Rush and Diane McDowell; her uncle’s Dwight Dixon, Derrick McDowell; Stephen Parker Sr., Curtis Parker, and Ronald Evans Sr.; Her cousins Rodney and Juwan Stevens and brother/cousin Anthony “Tanka” Rush.
Ayria is gone from the flesh but bonded in spirit with Christ our Lord. May her light shine on. Until we meet again.
