Antinette Whitfield Obituary

Antinette Jennings Whitfield, born August 21, 1961, to Joyce Jordan Norfleet and the late Thomas Stamps.  Antinette departed this life on March 4, 2026, in Benton Township Michigan.

Antinette grew up in Chicago Illinois where she accepted Jesus Christ at an early age at New Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church, later to join with Lily Dale Missionary Baptist Church.

The family relocated to Benton Harbor, MI in 1976. It is at the time she joined Progressive Missionary Baptist Church. Under the leadership of late Rev Dr. Daniel E. Cook. Throughout her life she enjoyed singing in gospel groups along with her aunts’ cousins and friends, traveling around to various Churches in Chicago.

One of her favorite songs was (Jesus Said Oh Peter Don’t You be Afraid). Antinette A.K.A Nette was a very outgoing, and loving person who was not afraid of anything. She had a great love for cooking and caring for others.  Antinette was always the life of the party!

A lifetime of memories of taking her grandchildren to the beach, soup kitchen, and parks. Antinette was well known for organizing and hosting big Easter egg hunts and the scariest Halloween party you could imagine, there was never a holiday that she would not cook and feed her friend and family.  In 2014 Antinette united with the St Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev George Robinson.

Honoring a well-lived life, she leaves to cherish her memories: her mother, Joyce Norfleet, her husband Stewart Whitfield, five children that she loved dearly; Jhurand, Sheri, Charles, Eusean and Andrew Jennings. (28 Grandchildren): Quaunisha ,Candice, Nevaeh , Shyanne,Taveon &Jhurand Jr. Jennings. Eureka Jennings, Malaysia, & Micahla Clark. Charles Jennings, K. Robinson, Char’Nisha  Jennings,  Micheal Jones, Eusean Jennings Jr., Nysean Jennings, Tysean Suggs, Kobi Jennings, William McKenzie, Ke’Sean Jennings, & Ashton Jennings,  Hades Jennings, Rayden Roberson, Elias ,A’Amilah ,Da’Arian Jennings, Kylani, Kysean Buchannan, and Kennon Deterden. (11 Great Grandchildren) Willie Boone III, Sema’J Boone, Cajarii Jennings-Willis, Ny’Auna Crews, Aubrey Garrett, Natalie Bownes, Knature Holland-Robinson, Knova Holland-Robinson, Charm Edison-Coleman, Jurnee Edison-Gaines, and Aaliyah Suggs. Three Sisters: Alisa Jordan, (BKA,) the big sister who would always take care of her.  Andrea Daniels and Eukeda Norfleet. One favorite Niece: Na’Angela Dancer  Four Nephews, Harold (Arie)Mabins III, Lex Daniels, Marcus Daniels, and Tyler Norfleet Three Aunt Joanne Robinson, Denise (Artie) Fisher, and Jan Jennings Five uncles Jeffery, Anthony, Ricky, David Cornelius (Sherly) Jennings 1 great aunt Bulah Bulter, one great uncle Rev Daniel Gladney, and a host of Cousin and friends She is proceeded in death by:  Her father, Thomas Stamp, Grandparents David and Lillie Jennings, Great Grandparents Adell and Lillie Gladney, Stepfather Lee Norfleet, Granddaughter Noami Jennings, Uncle Gregory Jennings, and Rev George Robinson, Several cousins Great Uncles and Aunts.
