Annie Williams Obituary

Annie Pearl (Byford) Williams, daughter of the late Elbert Byford, Sr. and Elizabeth “Lizzie” Byford was born on August 2, 1944, in Greenville, Alabama and raised in Mobile, Alabama. She later moved to Benton Harbor, Michigan in 1964. She departed this life surrounded by loved ones on May 31, 2024, at Pine Ridge Rehabilitation Facility.

Annie Pearl left Mobile, Alabama to join her late Aunt Annie Mae and Uncle Johnnie Lee Adams in Michigan. She was joined in matrimony with the late Leroy Williams on April 12, 1965, until death. She raised five of her six children and grandson, Ta’Khiry Lynch. She was a hard-working single parent who always provided for her children.  She gave her life to the Lord in her early thirties. She dedicated her life to the Lord until he called her home. She loved dancing, singing, and testifying about the goodness of the Lord. She was a great example to her children and friends of how to survive and depend on the Lord for everything.  No one loved the Lord more than she did. One of her favorite quotes was “I serve the Lord.” She loved her family and special cousins Margaret Adams, Alfreda Williams, and Albert Adams.

Annie was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Porter Hawthorne, Sr., Elbert Byford, Jr., and grandson: Dominique N. Williams. She leaves to mourn, her children: Pamela Barnes of Winter Haven, FL; Daphine Littleton, Cheryl “Niecy” Autry, Michelle Williams and Torrie Williams of Benton Harbor, MI; Reginald Williams of Monona, WI; her two sisters: Jenetta Cawthorne, Barbara (Edward) Thompson both of Mobile, AL; one brother: Hollis Byford of Mobile, AL; her sister-in-law: Callie Byford of Pittsburgh, PA. and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins who she loved dearly.
