Annie White Obituary

“And we know that all things work together for the good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

Mother Annie Pearl White, a devoted woman of God and faithful prayer warrior, peacefully transitioned to her eternal home on Sunday, April 26, 2026, surrounded by love at her daughter’s home in South Bend, Indiana. She was 87 years old.

Born on September 4, 1938, in Clarke County, Alabama, Annie was the daughter of the late John and Pearlie Tucker. At the tender age of 16, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, beginning a lifelong journey of holiness and service.

On February 16, 1960, Annie was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Deacon Thomas White. Their beautiful union, which spanned 66 years, was built on a foundation of faith and mutual devotion. To this union, eight children were born. As a dedicated homemaker, Mother White’s life was defined by the extraordinary care she provided to her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Mother White was a cornerstone of the Tabernacle Church of God in Christ for over 50 years. Serving under the leadership of the late Bishop Howard Thomas and currently Pastor Rufus Young, she was a faithful member of the usher board. Though quiet in nature, she was a spiritual giant—a "mighty woman of God" and a prayer warrior who interceded tirelessly for the souls of others. She found her greatest joy in reading her Bible, singing praises, and sharing the goodness of the Lord with everyone she encountered.

Mother Annie Pearl White leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband, Deacon Thomas White; four sons: Thomas (LaWanda) White of San Diego, CA, Gregory (Mary Ann) White and Kevin (LaVerne) White of Benton Harbor, MI, and Darren (Mary Ann) White of Battle Creek, MI; and three daughters: Beverly (Dwyane) Yarbrough of Benton Harbor, MI, Cassandra Faye (Jim) Lipkins, and Roshonda (DeWayne) Goodrich of South Bend, IN., twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren, and thirteen great-great-grandchildren, two sisters; Susie Locke and Mae (Isaac) Haslem, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and her beloved Tabernacle Church family. Her legacy of holiness and her "quiet but mighty" spirit will continue to resonate in the lives of all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by one son, Melvin White, one, grandson, McKinley White, one great-grandson, Jakob Coleman, parents, John & Pearlie Tucker, six brothers, Liston Tucker, John Tucker, Jr., Leo Tucker, Willie J. Tucker, Woodrow Tucker, and Earl Tucker, five sisters, Ossie-Lee McNeal, Ida-Mae Lawson, Creolia White, Juanita Perdue, and Sarah Hetherington; thirteen brother-in-laws, Hubert McNeal, Jimmy Lawson, Lemon Perdue, Robert Lee Curry, Albert Leonard, Eula Autrey, Willie White, Ernest Heatherington, Clyde Locke, David White, Billie Daniels, Alphonso White and John White, nine sister-in-laws, Minnie Autrey, Cecelia Leonard, Mary Curry, Hazel Tucker, Margaret Tucker, Laura Tucker, Fannie-Bell Tucker, Beverly Tucker, and Maxine Taylor.
