Alletha Nash Obituary

 

 Mrs. Alletha Nash 82, affectionately known as Lil Honey peacefully passed away surrounded by family and friends on May 4,2025 at Corewell Health Hospital in St. Joesph Michigan. 

Alletha Nash was born on January 5,1943 in Gilmore Ark to the union of Mr. Ocie Young Sr and Mrs. Deola Young. 

She was married to Louis J Nash on December 31,1964. 

Alletha accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of the Church of Christ in Benton Harbor Michigan. She loved her church family. 

Sister Nash was full of love and joy. She was an extremely sweet and caring person. Her many joys were helping others and decorating her home. She took pride in making beautiful flowers arrangements. 

Alletha worked for years at the Salvation Army in Benton Harbor. She loved watching her soap operas, Judge Judy, and doing her puzzle books. She was a very great cook the brothers from her church called her “The Kitchen Mechanic”. 

She leaves to cherish in her memories three daughters Annie Young and April Nash both of Benton Harbor MI. Louise (David) Judson of Hampton GA. Two sons David Paul Young and Lewis Nash Jr both of Indianapolis IN; Five sisters Maggie (Willie) Kyle and Catherine (James) Mays both of Benton Harbor MI. Shelly Young of Lansing MI Sandra (Wayne) Hardy of Eaton Rapids MI, and Martha Young of Detroit MI. Two brothers Terry (Cindy) Young and David (Jackie) Young both of Benton Harbor MI. Fifteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and five great- great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, and friends. 

Alletha was preceded in death by her husband Louis J. Nash Sr. Her parents Ocie Young Sr and Deola Young; one daughter Barbara Young; three grandchildren Michael Young, Andre Campbell Jr, and Latosha Judson (Chachi) five sisters Mary Siggers, Diane Young, Dorothy Jean Young, Mary Perry and Barbara Jean Bryant five brothers; Ocie Young Jr, Early Young, Willie Young, Michael Young and Dwayne Young.
