Aileen Sykes Kimble, 93 of Benton Harbor transitioned from this life on November 9, 2022, after a long illness. Aileen received Christ at an early age and throughout her life she attended several churches in the Benton Harbor and Muskegon areas and she called them all home.
Aileen (Sykes) Kimble was born on June 18, 1929, in Benton Harbor, Michigan to John Sykes and Anna (Penson) Martin. Aileen attended the Benton Harbor Public School System, Western Michigan University, and Lake Michigan College where she obtained a Business Degree. Aileen was very bright and was especially good with numbers. Her other many talents included, but not limited to, being a great cook, seamstress, and she had the singing voice of an Angel. But her most important talent was her compassion for others.
Aileen was married to the love of her life and best friend Theo Kimble Jr. for over 47 years until his passing.
Aileen and her sister ran several businesses, including the River Ridge Elderly Home and Royal One Hour Dry Cleaners. Aileen was also a member of The Order of the Eastern Star, and the Zodiac Social Club.
Aileen leaves to cherish her memory, daughters: Mary Barr and Kim Griffin; grandchildren: Ashley Morris, Ali Morris, and Karletta Griffin; special nieces: Brenda Wade, Janel Oliver, Gamina Oliver, Geronica Burton (Caregiver), and Marlene Mitchell; nephews: Johnny (Terri) Baker III and Keith (Jacklin Kirkland) Baker; special daughter: Mildred Robinson; special friends: Les and Dorothy Golliday, Josephine Smith, and the Beck Family. Also a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins, other family members, and many dear friends.
Aileen was proceeded in death by her parents, husband: Theo Kimble Jr.; sisters: Rita Wagner and Constance Jones; sister-in-laws: Madie Clifton and Catherine Jones; daughter: Betty Morris; granddaughter: Tomella Morris; nephew: Keli I.A. Wade; special cousin: Ruby Dudley; and special friend: Linnie Mae Hegler.
