Willie James Washington Jr. 67, of Noblesville, Ind. a native of Benton Harbor passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018 at Riverview Hospital. A celebration of his life will be held at Robbins Brothers Funeral Home in Benton Harbor, MI. on April 7, 2018, Saturday with viewing starting at 10:00 am and services following at 11:00 am service.
Willie was born on April 30, 1950 in Parkin, Arkansas to the parents of Willie James Washington Sr. and Elvie Harper. He attended Arkansas public schools.
He is survived by his children: Callie Veverette of Noblesville, Ind., Marilyn (Joseph) Johnson of Grand Rapids, MI., Bobby (Ronnie) McGee of Olive Branch, MS., Tosha Ferron of Noblesville, Ind., Lydell Jackson and Simion Moss both of Benton Harbor, MI., sisters: Dorothy Washington, of New York, Sylvia Tibbs and Ann Washington both of Benton Harbor, MI., and a host of grandkids, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Willie loved to cook and go fishing. He made sure that his family had food on the table. He took great care of his family and was a great provider. He was always helping anyone that was in need. He loved to get up early and collect strap and metal in his truck. Willie always kept the candy jar filled with candy for his grandchildren.
Willie was proceeded in the death by his parents and siblings: Lillie Mae Washington, James Lee Washington, Mae Washington, Eunice Carlton and Ollie Washington and a long-time companion of 32 years Dorothy "Doreen" Wilson.
