Vernon Baker Sr. 79, of Benton Township, transitioned from earthly labor on October 26, 2017.  Vernon leaves a legacy of generosity and kindness. Enjoying and living life to the fullest and doing good deeds for mankind. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no Legacy Farewell Celebration or public viewing.

Vernon married Geneva (Genny) Parker on July 23rd, 2004. He was employed by Whirlpool Corporation for 43 years. He was preceded in death by his beloved late wife Geraldine Baker and his parents Johnny and Nellie Baker.

Those left to cherish memories, Wife Geneva Baker; children Vernon Baker Jr., Linda Baker-Bynum, Donald (Myra) Baker, Stephanie ( Steve) White; step-children; Sean (Rachel) Parker, Tracy (Curtis) Miller, Steven Parker, eleven grand-children, four siblings and a host of other relatives and friends.
